Job Description: As a Transmission Builder at AutoShop Recruiting, you will play a crucial role in our service department. You will be responsible for the complete overhaul, rebuild, and assembly of automatic and manual transmissions. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild automatic and manual transmissions according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Diagnose transmission issues and determine the best course of action for repair or replacement.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to perform precise measurements and adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and parts are properly stored and accounted for.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices through continuous training and professional development.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in automotive technology preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Transmission Builder or similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of automatic and manual transmission systems and components.
- ASE Certifications are highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, precision measuring instruments, and specialized transmission repair equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
